Fiery crown of the Kpes
Guarding refugees on exile from lands ancestral
Brooding brow wreathed with cloud waves high and low of tide
Mirror reflecting flitting emotions experienced below awesome giant.
From sources mysterious, rivers and fountains red molten
Are belched suddenly
The invincible floods preceded by shivers earth-shaking
Prelude to gigantic vomits
Coughing out earth's bowels devouring
Terror of generations
Never committing the error of annihilating species menaced by extinction
Seeking protection grace within arms colossal.
Solid flanks of forest green repel invasion onslaughts
Petering out into savannah lush
Dancing brushes waving gaily in soft breezes without caprice
Refuge for species unique
Survivors of another age.
On heels of scenario yellow comes magic tree
Inaccessible plant tantalising
Floating just beyond space
Gateway to semi-arid mat
Home of dauntless ferns
Stunted people of another epoch
Below wind level squatting.
The anteroom to apex of colossus is desert stony
Arid moat protecting pinnacle haughty
Home of the gods
Welcoming home only the courageous
That once home
Realise that all else is far below
Nestling small in majestic folds of towering masterpiece eternal.

Mola,
This is an interesting take on the mountain.I find your deliberate reversal of syntax(if one can validly refer to syntax in a poem) intriguing. You sound like someone who has read Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible.
Congratulations
