In 1968, when this film was made, teams from the Bakweri villages near Buea, on the slopes of Mt. Cameroon, held wrestling matches on weekends. Opponents chose each other. To win, a wrestler had to force his opponent to the ground. I made this film with a windup 16mm. camera when I was a Peace Corps volunteer.
